今日、11月6日は、Glenn FreyとDoug Sahmの誕生日。
1948年、デトロイト生まれのGlenn Frey。
1941年、テキサス生まれのDoug Sahm。
7歳違いの二人が、それぞれの事情を抱えてカリフォルニアへ向かった。
恋人を追いかけたGlenn Freyは、そこで思いがけない音楽の相棒に出会う。
一方、テキサスで育ったDoug Sahmは、英国人のふりをしてレコードをヒットさせたあと、警察に捕まって西海岸へ。
同じ西へ向かった二人。
でも、そこで見つけたものは、まるで違っていた。
人生というのは、なかなか予定通りに走らない。
道を間違えたと思ったところから、思いがけない景色が見えてくることもある。

One followed love west.The other went west after an arrest.
November 6 marks the birthdays of Glenn Frey and Doug Sahm.
Frey was born in Detroit in 1948.
Sahm was born in Texas in 1941.
Seven years apart, both eventually headed west to California — for very different reasons.
Frey followed a girlfriend to Los Angeles, where he unexpectedly found a musical partner.
Sahm, meanwhile, had scored a hit with a Texas band marketed as British. After an arrest, he made his way to California.
Two men. Two roads west.
And two very different discoveries waiting at the end of the journey.
Life rarely follows the route we planned.
Sometimes the wrong turn is where the most unexpected scenery begins.
